AMPA Creativity working group

Creativity in schools is increasingly important, not just in the visual decoration of the classroom and the corridors, but within the context of the school grounds. An educational curriculum which supports creative thinking benefits all students, in all subjects and contributes to greater learning outcomes for non academic learning styles. Creativity in the school affects the well-being of all. Economically, the creative industries and design underpin every part of contemporary culture.

What has been proposed?

AMPA’s first proposal to Mr Marcheggiano was simple and straightforward; to paint the main entrances gates. AMPA is pleased to see that this work has begun with Primary choosing the colour yellow and Secondary students choosing magenta.

What’s next?

Alongside the gates initiative, AMPA and the school have been working on a project on the theme of SUSTAINABILITY, to support the schools’ 20th Anniversary. This project has been financed by AMPA and supported by all school year sections. We have been working to decorate the existing exterior banners, the nursery school entrance gates and the Primary and Secondary security cabins.

The banners project is now complete with the students’ work being installed at the school entrances and the main thoroughfare within the school grounds. Pupils from Infants, Primary and Secondary all responded by showing us their vision and understanding of this most important subject.

Both AMPA and the school are very pleased with the results and we hope that the infant school project and the security cabin artworks will be installed soon after Easter.
