Sustainability

• Managing meetings with the sustainable team of the school in order to be updated about all environmental topics in the EEA
• Acting as the intermediary communicator through physical meetings, emails, ppt presentations, whatsapp groups between the AMPA management committee and:
– Families/parents; School sustainability management team and School Direction (on any sustainability concerns School garden, recycling bins, donations).
– AUCA and AUSOLAN (regarding sustainable eating habits)
– Teachers (about initiatives like setting up a solidarity market)

Creativity

Creativity is increasingly important, not just in the visual decoration of the classroom and the corridors, but within the context of the school grounds. An educational curriculum which supports creative thinking benefits all students, in all subjects and contributes to greater learning outcomes for non academic learning styles. Creativity in the school affects the well-being of all. Economically, the creative industries underpin every part of contemporary culture. From 2022, AMPA has initiated a series of cultural and creative projects which aim to address the following:

• Cultural and creative advisory service to school management
• Liason with school staff on creative collaborations to support a visually stimulating school environment
• Developing cultural and artist practitioner lead workshops for student engagement and training
• Highlighting culture and the arts as a key choice for future training and employment
• Supporting more arts resources at school level
• Supporting the European school’s Syllabus for Art education in each education cycle.

AMPA Creatives

La creatividad es cada vez más importante, no solo en la decoración visual del aula y los pasillos, sino en el contexto del recinto escolar. Un currículo educativo que apoye el pensamiento creativo beneficia a todos los estudiantes, en todas las materias y contribuye a mejores resultados de aprendizaje para estilos de aprendizaje no académicos. La creatividad en la escuela incide en el bienestar de todos. Económicamente, las industrias creativas sustentan cada parte de la cultura contemporánea. A partir de 2022, AMPA ha iniciado una serie de proyectos culturales y creativos que tienen como objetivo abordar lo siguiente:

• Servicio de asesoramiento cultural y creativo a la dirección escolar
• Enlace con el personal de la escuela en colaboraciones creativas para apoyar un entorno escolar visualmente estimulante
• Desarrollar talleres dirigidos por profesionales de la cultura y los artistas para la participación y capacitación de los estudiantes
• Destacar la cultura y las artes como una opción clave para la formación y el empleo futuros
• Apoyar más recursos artísticos a nivel escolar
• Apoyar el plan de estudios de la escuela europea para la educación artística en cada ciclo educativo.

Well-being

AMPA and the European School take student’s wellbeing very seriously. Mental health is a serious issue and we strive at AMPA to support the school in its endeavours to improve the school environment for everyone. Our work includes the following:

• KiVa (Anti- bullying projects) in primary SINCE 2021-2022 and in secondary AS FROM SEPT 2022
• KiVa / Wellbeing training course for monitors of our service providers AUCA AUSOLAN and MiSol
• Mindfulness, Buddy system, cooperation with students committee in secondary school, cooperation with School Management
• AMPA Talks on Mental Health and Conflict management at home
• AMPA invested in playground material for more active and fun playgrounds
• Wellbeing Framework Policy.

AMPA participation in EEA working group to elaborate different policies.
Advocacy for increased nursing resources to optimise student care.

Well-being

El AMPA y la Escuela Europea se toma el bienestar de los estudiantes muy en serio. La salud mental es un asunto serio y apoyamos a la Escuela en sus esfuerzos para mejorar el entorno escolar en este sentido.
Nuestras actividades incluyen:

• KiVa (Proyecto anti acoso escolar) en primariaDESDE 2021-2022 y en secundaria DESDE SEPTIEMBRE 2022;
• KiVa / Curso sobre bienestar para monitores de los servicios de extraescolares, comedor y bus (AUCA, AUSOLAN y MiSol);
• Mindfulness, Buddy system, cooperación con el comité de estudiantes en la escuela secundaria, cooperación con la Dirección Escolar;
• Charlas AMPA sobre Salud Mental y Gestión de Conflictos en el hogar;
• AMPA invierte en material de juegos para parques infantiles más activos y divertidos;
• Política General de Bienestar.

Participación de AMPA en el grupo de trabajo de EEA para elaborar diferentes políticas.
Presión continua para obtener una mayor presencia de enfermeras.

Family Buddy

The first idea of Family Buddy was born with the intention of welcoming new families to our school. A place where you can get in touch with a support person, who knows the European School and Alicante and can help you find your way and solve all your possible problems.

The second came up a while later. The “Family Support Café”. The idea is to organize meetings. A meeting between families of children with specialized support and other needs.

Sometimes the families feel a bit alone in these situations and create a network of exchange contacts between families is always helpful. The idea is to organise a regular meeting to exchange ideas, ask questions, solve doubts, listen to other experiences and get extra support from each other.

Family Buddy

La primera idea de Family Buddy nació con la intención de dar la bienvenida a nuevas familias a nuestro colegio. Un lugar donde podrás ponerte en contacto con una persona de apoyo, que conoce la Escuela Europea y Alicante y puede ayudarte a orientarte y solucionar todos tus posibles problemas.

En segundo lugar surgió el “Café de Apoyo a la Familia”. La idea es organizar reuniones. Un encuentro entre familias de niños con apoyo especializado y otras necesidades.

A veces las familias se sienten un poco solas en estas situaciones y crear una red de contactos de intercambio entre familias siempre es de ayuda. La idea es organizar una reunión periódica para intercambiar ideas, hacer preguntas, resolver dudas, escuchar otras experiencias y conseguir apoyo extra unos de otros.

EUREKA!

• En Eureka las voluntarias gestionamos una base de datos de nuestra creación atendiendo a las características de los objetos que llegan perdidos.

• Se clasifican los objetos atendiendo al orden de llegada y su tipología.

• Se atiende al público tanto a los niños que llegan buscando objetos perdidos como a los padres que también pueden venir y solicitar prendas y otros objetos.

• Se trata de localizar los que tengan nombre para después con una etiqueta especial organizar para su devolución a sus dueños en las clases a través de una persona vinculada con el colegio.

• Gestionamos el correo electrónico al que llegan las peticiones de objetos perdidos y recuperados.

• Las franjas de atención a las familias suelen ser de media hora a primera hora antes de la entrada al colegio o a la hora de recogida y los miércoles como es día corto también.

• Al final de curso con los objetos que no se han logrado entregar busca la mejor organización no gubernamental para donarlo se preparan las cajas organizadas por tipo de prenda edades para entregarlas a la asociación correspondiente.

• En Eureka también lavamos las botellas de agua y las cantimploras los tupper de comida así como las prendas que luego se han donado para entregarlas en condiciones.

• Organizamos jornadas de puertas abiertas a final del primer cuatrimestre y en el segundo dependiendo de la cantidad de objetos.

• Eureka Exchange! = Gestionamos también una base de datos con los uniformes que nos donan para proceder al Eureka Exchange, que es el intercambio de prendas de uniforme.

• Revisamos las perchas de primaria y el faro con las prendas de los más pequeños que quedan extraviadas.

EUREKA!

• At Eureka! The volunteers manage their own database according to the characteristics of the objects that arrive.

• The objects are classified according to the date of arrival, type, size and colour, etc.

• It is a case of locating those that have a name and then, with a special labelling system, organising them to be returned to their owners in their classroom via a person linked to the school.

• The office is open both to children who come looking for lost items and to parents who can also come to recover lost clothes and other objects.

• We manage the mailbox for lost and recovered items.

• Parents visiting times are on some days just before school begins until half an hour after school starts or half an hour before pick-up time and beyond. On Wednesdays and Friday’s earlier times are available as it is a short day.

• At the end of the school year, objects and clothes that have not been claimed are donated to suitable non-government organisations. Boxes are prepared for delivery to the corresponding organisations.

• At Eureka we also wash the water bottles, food containers and other items so that they can be delivered in good condition.

• We organise open days at the end of the first semester and in the second, depending on the number of objects.

• We also manage a database of uniforms that are donated to us and exchange items of uniform that the children have grown out of for bigger sizes, which is called the “Eureka Exchange”.

• As well as checking the primary school pegs, we also check the nursery and infant school for clothes that have been misplaced.

Book Bank

At the Book Bank we are in charge of collecting the books donated by the families who are members of the «Book Bank» programme.

We only accept donated books that are useful for the following school year. To find out which books are to be used, families should consult the list provided by the school on its website.

We also check that the donated books are in good condition and update our stock.
Once the book collection campaign is over (from the 20th to the 30th June), we assign each family a number of books equal to the number of useful books they have donated.
Before 15th July, we communicate via email to the families the books they will receive.

During the school year we hold monthly meetings. The last fortnight of June and the first fortnight of September we meet weekly.

Book Bank

Desde el Banco de Libros nos encargamos de recoger los libros donados para las familias adheridas al programa «Banco de Libros».

Sólo aceptamos en donación libros que vayan a ser utilizados el siguiente curso escolar. Para conocer cuáles son estos libros, son las familias las que deben consultar el listado proporcionado por la Escuela que se encuentra en su página web.

Comprobamos el buen estado de los libros y actualizamos el stock de Banco de libros.

Una vez finaliza la campaña de recogida de libros (del 20 al 30 de junio), asignamos a cada familia adherida al Banco un número de libros igual a la cantidad de libros útiles que ha donado. Antes del 15 de julio, comunicamos vía email a las familias los libros que recibirán al comienzo de curso.

Durante el curso hacemos reuniones mensuales. La última quincena de junio y la primera de septiembre nos reunimos semanalmente.

InterParents

InterParents is the federation of the PAs of all the European Schools. The main objectives of this federation are to exchange best practices and to represent families in the administrative bodies of the European Schools.

The tasks of the InterParents representatives are:
• Attend InterParents meetings 4 times a year in other European Schools and prepare a summary to inform the MCand the families.
• Read the documents shared by InterParents and prepare a summary to inform the MC and families.

Coordinator of Secondary representatives

• Attending the Infant and Primary Education Councils (EC) during the school year.
• Coordinate with the section representatives the issues to be discussed at the EC.
• To be informed of the issues of concern to infant and primary school families.
• Coordinate face-to-face participation in the three annual education councils.

Coordinator of Nursery / Primary representatives

• Attending the Infant and Primary Education Councils (EC) during the school year.
• Coordinate with the section representatives the issues to be discussed at the EC.
• To be informed of the issues of concern to infant and primary school families.
• Coordinate face-to-face participation in the three annual education councils.

AMPA talks

• Generate and source ideas for relevant topics and attractive speakers.
• Develop a plan for each quarter and organize logistics with the school.
• Communicate each talk through all available channels well in advance.
• Introduce the speakers and moderate the discussion.

BAC

• To keep abreast of all developments regarding the organization of BAC exams at central and local level.
• Liaise with the BAC working group within Interparents, to prepare the PA platform for reporting any exam-related issues that may be raised by pupils or their parents.
• Communicate with parents and pupils at local school level to explain and promote the use of the platform.
• Act as a local contact person for local issues and help to delegate other questions and complaints to other levels (for general issues) or to subject matter experts.
• Inform Interparents about the implementation of the BAC exams in Alicante.

Student exchange

• Support the secondary school secretary who coordinates the exchanges.
• Answering questions from families intercambios@ampaescuelaeuropea.com.
• Finding host families in Alicante (for students coming to Alicante).
• Information sheet on services for exchange students: canteen, transport, AMPA membership, books, etc.

Web

• Technical management of the PA website.
• Management of the PA web hosting service.
• Technical management of Google services (Gmail, Drive, …).
• Technical management of MailChimp.
• Technical management of Stripe.
• Responsible for resolving queries received through web@ampaescuelaeuropea.com.
• Coordination of changes in the content of the website.
• Design, update and maintenance of the website.

Communication

• Monthly newsletter development.
• Management of the Whatsapp group of class representatives.
• Mailchimp management.
• Responding to e-mails linked to publications on the website and in the newsletter.

Transport

• Management together with the School of the transport service.
• Management of the meetings of the Joint Transport Committee.
• Management of requests received on the distribution list «transporte@ampaescuelaeuropea.com».
• Verify that route stops meet the following 3 criteria.
-> Time: The time children spend on the bus should be minimized. It should never exceed 1 hour
-> Safety: Stops should be set up at bus stops established by the authorities. Exceptions must be approved according to safety criteria for boarding and alighting of users and in compliance with the road safety regulations established by the DGT.
-> Quality: Buses must meet the criteria specified in the contract.
• Management of transport volunteers.

Extracurricular activities

• Joint management with the school of the primary school activities service.
• Preparing and convening Joint Committee meetings (2-3 times per school year).
• Preparing and circulating minutes of meetings.
• Liaise with the service provider.
• Management of family enquiries.

Canteen

• Joint management with the school of the canteen service.
• Preparing and convening Joint Committee meetings (2-3 times per school year).
• Preparing and circulating minutes of meetings.
• Handling family enquiries.
• Collaborate with the service provider and the Canteen o working group.

Treasurer

• Making regular transfers (a few every month).
• Delivering invoices to accounting company.
• Collecting invoices on our AMPA drive.
• Responding to any inquiries about payments and checking that those payments are in line with the budget.
• Liaising with the bank.
• Making payments for students who do not have their own bank account: like yearly CoSup (the Student Union of the European Schools) payments and some other payments they need to make.
• Generating a monthly bank statement and delivering to our accountant and collecting on AMPA drive.
• Ad hoc assistance with questions about finances and procedures.
• Preparing a yearly budget and presenting it for approval first to the AMPA Management Committee and then to the General Assembly.
• Follow-up of the yearly budget and preparing an overview of yearly accounts.
• Responsible for answering questions or requests received via tesorero@ampaescuelaeuropea.com.
• Responsible for reviewing the incomes from subscriptions via Stripe or bank transfer.

Secretary

• Drafting minutes of management committee meetings.
• Call monthly management committee meetings.
• Respond to some of the emails sent to info@ampaescuelaeuropea.com.
• Manage documents with FAPA.
• Support the president and vice-president with documents or attend meetings.

Vice-President

• Prepare and assist in supporting the chairperson in meetings with school management.
• Attending School’s Safety Committee meetings.
• Attend School’s Advisory Council meetings.
• Participate in meetings of the School’s Board of Trustees and preparatory board meetings.
• Collaborate with the President in reviewing the annual budget prepared by the AMPA Treasurer before presenting it for approval to the PA Management Committee and then to the General Assembly.

President

• Prepare for and attend meetings with school management.
• Attend School’s Safety Committee meetings.
• Attend School’s Advisory Council meetings.
• Prepare for and attend School’s Advisory Council meetings and preparatory meetings to the council.
• Prepare and convene meetings of the Joint Dining and After School Committees (this really has to be the task of the person in charge of both services).
• Review the annual budget prepared by the PA treasurer before presenting it for approval to the PA Management Committee and then to the General Assembly.
• Collaborate with treasury (co-payment of transfers).
• Respond to e-mails received at info@ampaescuelaeuropea.com on relevant issues and pass on information to the CoG and school management if appropriate.
• Contact and meet with the PA lawyer if necessary.

Representante de InterParents

InterParents es la federación de AMPAs de todas las Escuelas Europeas. Los objetivos principales de esta federación son intercambiar las mejores prácticas y representar a las familias ante los órganos administrativos de las Escuelas Europeas.

Las tareas de los representante de InterParents son:
• Asistir a las reuniones de InterParents 4 veces al año en otras escuelas europeas y preparar un resumen para informar al CdG y a las familias.
• Leer los documentos compartidos por InterParents y preparar un resumen para informar al CdG y a las familias.

Coordinador/a de representantes de sección de secundaria

• Asistir a los consejos de educación (CdE) de secundaria.
• Coordinar con los representantes de sección los temas que se tratarán en CdE.
• Estar informado de los temas que preocupan a las familias de secundaria.
• Coordinar la participación presencial en los tres consejos de educación anuales.

Coordinador/a de representantes de sección de primaria e infantil

• Asistir a los consejos de educación (CdE) infantil y primaria del año escolar.
• Coordinar con los representantes de sección los temas que se tratarán en CdE.
• Estar informado de los temas que preocupan a las familias de infantil y primaria.
• Coordinar la participación presencial en los tres consejos de educación anuales.

Responsable de las AMPA talks

• Generar y conseguir ideas sobre temas relevantes y ponentes atractivos.
• Elaborar un plan para cada trimestre y organizar la logística con la escuela.
• Comunicar cada charla a través de todos los canales disponibles con suficiente antelación.
• Presentar a los ponentes y moderar el debate.

BAC Responsible

• Estar al tanto de todas las novedades relativas a la organización de los exámenes de la BAC a nivel central y local.
• Estar en contacto con el grupo de trabajo de la BAC dentro de Interparents, para preparar la plataforma de la AMPA para informar de cualquier cuestión relacionada con los exámenes que puedan plantear los alumnos o sus padres.
• Comunicarse con los padres y los alumnos a nivel de la escuela local para explicar y promover el uso de la plataforma.
• Actuar como persona de contacto local para cuestiones locales y ayudar a delegar otras preguntas y reclamaciones a otros niveles (para cuestiones generales) o a expertos en la materia.
• Informar a Interparents sobre la realización de los exámenes de la BAC en Alicante.

Responsable intercambios

• Apoyar a la secretaria de secundaria quien coordina los intercambios.
• Responder a las preguntas de las familias intercambios@ampaescuelaeuropea.com
• Buscar familias de acogida en Alicante (para los alumnos que vienen a Alicante).
• Hoja informativa sobre los servicios para estudiantes de intercambio: comedor, transporte, socio AMPA, libros.

Responsable web

• Gestión técnica de la web de AMPA.
• Gestión del servicio de hospedaje de la web de AMPA.
• Gestión técnica de los servicios Google (Gmail, Drive, …).
• Gestión técnica de MailChimp.
• Gestión técnica de Stripe.
• Responsable de resolver las consultas que llegan a través de web@ampaescuelaeuropea.com
• Coordinación de los cambios en el contenido de la web.

Responsable comunicación

• Verificar que las paradas de las rutas cumplan los 3 criterios siguientes.
->Tiempo: Se debe minimizar el tiempo que los niños pasan en el autobús. Y nunca excederá de 1 horas.
->Seguridad: Las paradas se establecerán en paradas de autobús establecidas por las autoridades. Las excepciones se deben aprobar siguiendo criterios de seguridad en la subida y bajada de los usuarios y cumpliendo las normas de seguridad vial establecidas por la DGT.
->Calidad: Los autobuses deben cumplir los criterios especificados en el contrato.
• Gestión de los voluntarios de transporte.
• Mantenimiento de la sección “Transporte” dentro de la web de la AMPA.

Responsable actividades extraescolares de primaria e infantil

• Gestión junto con la Escuela del servicio de las actividades de primaria.

• Gestión junto con la Escuela del servicio de Comedor.

Secretario/a

• Redactar actas de las reuniones del comité de gestión.

• Gestionar documentos con FAPA.
• Dar soporte a la presidenta y vicepresidente con documentos o asistir a alguna reunión.

Vicepresidente/a

• Preparar y asistir apoyar al presidente en las reuniones con management de la Escuela.
• Asistir a las reuniones del Comité de Seguridad de la Escuela.
• Asistir a las reuniones de School’s Advisory Council.
• Participar en reuniones del Consejo de Administración de la Escuela y las reuniones preparatorias al Consejo.

Presidente/a

• Preparar y asistir a las reuniones con management de la Escuela.
• Asistir a las reuniones del Comité de Seguridad de la Escuela.
• Asistir a las reuniones de School’s Advisory Council.
• Preparar y asistir a las reuniones de Consejo de Administración de la Escuela y las reuniones preparatorias al Consejo.
• Preparar y convocar las reuniones de los Comités Mixtos de Comedor y Extraescolares (realmente tiene que ser la tarea del responsable de ambos servicios).
• Revisar el presupuesto anual preparado por el tesorero de AMPA antes de presentarlo para su aprobación al Comité de Gestión de AMPA y luego a la Asamblea General.
• Colaborar con tesorería (co-pago de las transferencias).
• Responder a los correos electrónicos recibidos en info@… en los temas que le correspondan y transmitir la información al CdG y al management de la Escuela si procede.
• Contactar y reunir con el abogado de AMPA si procede.

Tesorero/a

• Realizar transferencias periódicas (unas pocas cada mes).
• Entregar las facturas a la empresa de contabilidad.
• Guardar las facturas en AMPA drive.
• Responder a cualquier consulta sobre pagos y comprobar que éstos se ajustan al presupuesto.
• Estar en contacto con el banco.
• Hacer los pagos para los estudiantes que no tienen su propia cuenta bancaria: como los pagos anuales de CoSup (la Unión de Estudiantes de las Escuelas Europeas) y algunos otros pagos que necesitan hacer.
• Generar un extracto bancario mensual y entregarlo a nuestro contable y guardar en AMPA drive.
• Asistencia ad hoc con preguntas sobre finanzas y procedimientos.
• Preparar un presupuesto anual y presentarlo para su aprobación primero al Comité de Gestión de AMPA y luego a la Asamblea General.
