The first idea of Family Buddy was born with the intention of welcoming new families to our school. A place where you can get in touch with a support person, who knows the European School and Alicante and can help you find your way and solve all your possible problems.
The second came up a while later. The “Family Support Café”. The idea is to organize meetings. A meeting between families of children with specialized support and other needs.
Sometimes the families feel a bit alone in these situations and create a network of exchange contacts between families is always helpful. The idea is to organise a regular meeting to exchange ideas, ask questions, solve doubts, listen to other experiences and get extra support from each other.
La primera idea de Family Buddy nació con la intención de dar la bienvenida a nuevas familias a nuestro colegio. Un lugar donde podrás ponerte en contacto con una persona de apoyo, que conoce la Escuela Europea y Alicante y puede ayudarte a orientarte y solucionar todos tus posibles problemas.
En segundo lugar surgió el “Café de Apoyo a la Familia”. La idea es organizar reuniones. Un encuentro entre familias de niños con apoyo especializado y otras necesidades.
A veces las familias se sienten un poco solas en estas situaciones y crear una red de contactos de intercambio entre familias siempre es de ayuda. La idea es organizar una reunión periódica para intercambiar ideas, hacer preguntas, resolver dudas, escuchar otras experiencias y conseguir apoyo extra unos de otros.
• Se clasifican los objetos atendiendo al orden de llegada y su tipología.
• Se atiende al público tanto a los niños que llegan buscando objetos perdidos como a los padres que también pueden venir y solicitar prendas y otros objetos.
• Se trata de localizar los que tengan nombre para después con una etiqueta especial organizar para su devolución a sus dueños en las clases a través de una persona vinculada con el colegio.
• Gestionamos el correo electrónico al que llegan las peticiones de objetos perdidos y recuperados.
• Las franjas de atención a las familias suelen ser de media hora a primera hora antes de la entrada al colegio o a la hora de recogida y los miércoles como es día corto también.
• Al final de curso con los objetos que no se han logrado entregar busca la mejor organización no gubernamental para donarlo se preparan las cajas organizadas por tipo de prenda edades para entregarlas a la asociación correspondiente.
• En Eureka también lavamos las botellas de agua y las cantimploras los tupper de comida así como las prendas que luego se han donado para entregarlas en condiciones.
• Organizamos jornadas de puertas abiertas a final del primer cuatrimestre y en el segundo dependiendo de la cantidad de objetos.
• Eureka Exchange! = Gestionamos también una base de datos con los uniformes que nos donan para proceder al Eureka Exchange, que es el intercambio de prendas de uniforme.
• Revisamos las perchas de primaria y el faro con las prendas de los más pequeños que quedan extraviadas.

• At the end of the school year, objects and clothes that have not been claimed are donated to suitable non-government organisations. Boxes are prepared for delivery to the corresponding organisations.
• At Eureka we also wash the water bottles, food containers and other items so that they can be delivered in good condition.
• We organise open days at the end of the first semester and in the second, depending on the number of objects.
• We also manage a database of uniforms that are donated to us and exchange items of uniform that the children have grown out of for bigger sizes, which is called the “Eureka Exchange”.
• As well as checking the primary school pegs, we also check the nursery and infant school for clothes that have been misplaced.
We only accept donated books that are useful for the following school year. To find out which books are to be used, families should consult the list provided by the school on its website.
We also check that the donated books are in good condition and update our stock.
Once the book collection campaign is over (from the 20th to the 30th June), we assign each family a number of books equal to the number of useful books they have donated.
Before 15th July, we communicate via email to the families the books they will receive.
During the school year we hold monthly meetings. The last fortnight of June and the first fortnight of September we meet weekly.
Sólo aceptamos en donación libros que vayan a ser utilizados el siguiente curso escolar. Para conocer cuáles son estos libros, son las familias las que deben consultar el listado proporcionado por la Escuela que se encuentra en su página web.
Comprobamos el buen estado de los libros y actualizamos el stock de Banco de libros.
Una vez finaliza la campaña de recogida de libros (del 20 al 30 de junio), asignamos a cada familia adherida al Banco un número de libros igual a la cantidad de libros útiles que ha donado. Antes del 15 de julio, comunicamos vía email a las familias los libros que recibirán al comienzo de curso.
Durante el curso hacemos reuniones mensuales. La última quincena de junio y la primera de septiembre nos reunimos semanalmente.
