Christmas Market in the European School of Alicante: great beginning for the most solidary and happy season in the year

Last Thursday, the 11th December Our European School playgrounds got decked out for our already traditional Christmas Market, the most expected event in these time of year for students, families and the whole School community.

It was really moving to witness the load of donations -aimed at helping NGO Pequeño Fresno– in the shape of children board games, soft toys, superheroes and princesses costumes, dolls, little cars, books in every European language ,delicious hand made dishes, both salty and sweet, traditional Christmas food from different international origins. …..Sustainability and Solidarity got together in a beautiful display organized by our volunteers team -including volunteers children-, who, with their illusion and smiles, achieved the amount of almost 800 euros, only in AMPA tables.

Last but not least, we were able to enjoy the concert of the EEA Chorus, the students interventions of the French, German, English and French sections singing Christmas Carols (with moms and dads also singing El Burrito Sabanero and All I want for Christmas is you), and even Santa Claus came to watch the concert in the first row 😊. The concert ended with all teachers singing a delightful Christmas Medley in different European languages.

Gluh Wein, Hot chocolate, Pop Corn….smiling hopeful faces waiting before La casita de Papá Noel…the bouncy castle…the little stands to find some handmade ornament for the Christmas tree or a traditional cake… toys, costumes and books for everyone.. a dream come true for small people..and not so small.

The magic season begins and from AMPA we wish you a Merry Christmas from the bottom of our hearts, and a great beginning for new year 2026.

Christmas is approaching, and we are already preparing this unique celebration with great excitement together with Infant and Primary, AUSOLAN, AUCA, Secondary students and the AMPA.

Thursday, 11 December · 18:00 to 20:30
We look forward to enjoying a magical afternoon with all our families.

This year, all proceeds will be donated to the Pequeño Fresno association, created by a family from our school to raise awareness and support those living with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (T.S.C.). Taking part is a direct way to stand by their side.

AMPA will offer three activities at the market:

  • Second-hand stall with toys, costumes and books (you can donate what you no longer use and give it a new life). Donations will be collected from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 December at the Primary entrance.
  • AMPA food table (you can contribute food without needing to help on the day). Cold items such as sponge cakes or pies are recommended.
  • Eureka! Lost and found, where volunteers will display all clothing so families can recover their missing items.

To make all of this possible, we need volunteer families willing to help, share their time and create an unforgettable memory together.

We have created a WhatsApp group to organise each activity. If you would like to collaborate, join us.

Together, we will make this Christmas truly special. We are counting on you!
