MYOPIA AND WORKING WITH SCREENS

We live in a digital world. Electronic devices have broken into our lives irreversibly: to work, to interact, for leisure… And as a consequence, new health problems have appeared at various levels. As for vision, the worst of all is myopia.

Myopia causes blurring of distance vision and if it progresses it can also cause serious diseases of the retina. For this reason, we must prevent its appearance and avoid its progression in the cases of myopic children.

Ideal profile for myopia

Both myopic parents, Asian, work in close proximity greater than 2.5 hours a day, in low light conditions, at too close a distance, outdoor activities less than 1.5 hours a day.

Tips to avoid myopia

1-Stop, rest and breathe………every 25 min look up, take a deep breath 5 times while looking from afar, blink 25 times.

2-Your arm guides you: the ideal reading distance is from your knuckles to the elbow. For computer extended arm with closed fist.

3-Bigger, better: tablet better than mobile, PC better than tablet, Television better than PC

4-Light on the opposite side of the hand with which you write

5-Perform outdoor activities
