You may remember having read about three of our amazing teachers traveling to Calcutta, India last term to visit some of the projects that we and our school have been supporting for many years?

Pradip was founded as a voluntary initiative by Anja Fischer in Germany more than 25 years ago. Its work is based on educational projects for street children, children of prostitutes, slum children, orphans, protection and rehabilitation of victims of child labour and sexual exploitation… And they are cofinancing three homes for orphans and victims of exploitation.

Our school has kindly agreed to support fundraising activities for the benefit of these projects over many years. Many parents have generously donated money, but perhaps without knowing much about what is actually going on at the receiving end.

We have asked Anja Fischer, Fiona O’Leary, Bhavini Lad and Julia Gack to tell us more about their projects and to share their personal reflections on this work. They will give us more background information about their local partners in Calcutta and explain how “Pradip – Partner One World” has contributed to giving some hope to children who were born under the worst conditions we could possibly (or not even) imagine.

Please join us for an interesting evening about how personal commitment can go a long way to make a difference. You can read more about the projects here: http://www.pradip.de/en/
