INTERPARENTS convenes meetings four times a year to discuss issues of common interest and to develop common positions. Notable topics discussed at these meetings usually include:

  • European School Language Policy
  • Pedagogical reform and the Eight Key Competences
  • Competence-based assessment and the New Marking System in secondary
  • Educational Technology and Digital Competence
  • Evolution of and support for the Baccalaureate
  • Students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • School failures and repeat rates
  • School trips
  • Inspection and Quality Assurance
  • Cost sharing and teacher remuneration
  • Sustainability
  • Ensuring infrastructure and funding

The meetings are held during 2 full days where InterParents representatives from all Parent Associations across the system discuss in-depth documents to be analysed and policies are made regarding various pedagogical topics on the agenda of the JTC or BoG meetings.  The host Parent Association invites the representatives for lunch in the school canteen and the director of the school gives a guided tour of the school after lunch. This gives an idea of different European schools to the InterParents representatives and learn best practices from each European School.

Attached you will find the summary of the InterParents meeting prior to the BoG (4th and 5th December 2025 in Karlsruhe) and of the BoG meeting (9th and 10th December 2025 in Brussels), as well as the Decisions and Statements Document.
