Dear Parents,

As you all know, the past two weeks, the terrible floods have affected many cities nearby Valencia, and there is still need for our help.
Many volunteers had been working in the area to remove the mud and help the people there. Food, clothing, cleaning supplies, and much more donations are flowing, as well as donations via the Red Cross and Caritas.

But some urgent needs, unfortunately, fall between the cracks of these terrible disasters: people with different degrees of intellectual disability.
Asociación SENAD, is an organization in L’Alcùdia, Valencia, dedicated to the support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as inclusion.

With the past floods, their facilities were completely destroyed. Currently, they are fundraising to be able to open again as soon as possible:

We know there is an infinite number of needs in all the affected cities, but this is a cause I strongly and kindly invite you to support. My name is Carmen Uribe de Macias, I am part of the AMPA Management Committee, and I have a 5-year-old son with autism, ADHD and epilepsy. He currently attends a similar center in Alicante city, and we know firsthand how much these therapies are needed, so sadly, we can only imagine all those in need of them, in L’Alcùdia without the access.

In order to contribute within our capacity, Macias Uribe Family, we started a solidarity initiative to support Asociacion SENAD. To raise funds, we’ve created an Instagram profile @buses.solidarios, where you can see the project. Inspired by our son Gilberto, who is autistic, as above mentioned, and has a special love for buses, we designed tote bags featuring his artwork. Each bag is 15 euros, and all proceeds will go directly to @asociacionsenad.

Currently, we have the following selling points:

Alicante Centre:

  • Chipolas in C/San Vicente, 39 – where the bags are made-;
  • Zudents Clinic en Av. de la Estación, 5, local 15 FNAC

San Juan Pueblo:

  • Restaurante “Conchile y Azafran” en Avinguda de la Diagonal, 5;
  • Zudents Clinic en C/Doctor Pérez Mateos, 1 Local 15;
  • La Cuisine de Marguerite en C/Doctor Pérez Mateos, 1 Local 16

Likewise, you can place your order at the Instagram profile @buses.solidarios through direct message.

In person, we have two options:
School: I will personally be selling them at Chispa/Nursery drop-collecting point, across the fire station, in the afternoon, at pick up time.
EUIPO: Gil Macias (Gilbertito’s dad), will bring it to the EUIPO as well, so you can pick one (or more) up here or place an order directly with him, and he’ll bring it to you at the office.

Likewise, if you want to contribute directly to Asociación SENAD, you can find above, the link to do so.

Please feel free to spread the word, and if anyone wants to help by becoming a distribution point, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much in advance for your support, and here’s to helping @asociacionsenad rebuild their wonderful center!

¡Força, València!
