• At Eureka! The volunteers manage their own database according to the characteristics of the objects that arrive.
• The objects are classified according to the date of arrival, type, size and colour, etc.
• It is a case of locating those that have a name and then, with a special labelling system, organising them to be returned to their owners in their classroom via a person linked to the school.
• The office is open both to children who come looking for lost items and to parents who can also come to recover lost clothes and other objects.
• We manage the mailbox for lost and recovered items.
• Parents visiting times are on some days just before school begins until half an hour after school starts or half an hour before pick-up time and beyond. On Wednesdays and Friday’s earlier times are available as it is a short day.
• At the end of the school year, objects and clothes that have not been claimed are donated to suitable non-government organisations. Boxes are prepared for delivery to the corresponding organisations.
• At Eureka we also wash the water bottles, food containers and other items so that they can be delivered in good condition.
• We organise open days at the end of the first semester and in the second, depending on the number of objects.
• We also manage a database of uniforms that are donated to us and exchange items of uniform that the children have grown out of for bigger sizes, which is called the “Eureka Exchange”.
• As well as checking the primary school pegs, we also check the nursery and infant school for clothes that have been misplaced.
