Dear families,

We would like to inform you about an important change that affects the daily life of our Secondary students: the vending machines offering drinks and snacks have been removed from the building. Until now, there were four machines in use: one for coffee, one for soft drinks, and two with snack products, most of them of little nutritional value (cookies, sugary snacks, etc.).

The removal of these machines is in response to the new regulation (Royal Decree 3145/2025, which develops Law 17/2011). This decree sets minimum nutritional quality and sustainability criteria, limiting the presence of ultra-processed products in schools and aiming to promote healthier environments. It is also a decision aligned with our community’s commitment to fostering responsible and sustainable lifestyle habits.

We are aware that these changes require some adjustment, but we are convinced they will contribute positively to the well-being of our students by reducing access to unhealthy products during the school day.

From AMPA, we will continue to work together with the school management and the companies that provide catering and cafeteria services to ensure quality alternatives that meet the needs of the whole school community.

Warm regards,
The AMPA Management Committee
